Featured Broadcast: Power Down Live from Metropolis Studios Today 7:30pm BST

Last month saw the first of our exclusive live broadcasts from the prestigious Metropolis Studios. The Power Down showcase returns today, with an equally impressive line up, including some of the best up and coming acts on the circuit. You can catch all the action live and in high quality  here on Mixlr today from 7.30pm BST.

This month we’ll hear the likes of Jamie & the Portaits, Pigott Brothers, Temple Grounds and JJ Cindermann performing live.

The Kent countryside can be a frustrating place to be for a scrawny bunch of misfit musicians such as Jamie and the Portraits. Striking out from their desolate surroundings in a blaze of youthful enthusiasm and with a sound built upon strong founding influences such as Dylan, The View and Babyshambles. Sebastian Pigott (born February 14, 1983) is a Canadian singer, actor and contestant on the sixth season of Canadian Idol.

Pigott has subsequently appeared in such network television shows as The Listener, Heartland, The Border, and Deadliest Sea. His most prominent role to date has been that of barista Kai Booker on the second season of CBC Television’s Being Erica, for which he and his brother Oliver wrote the songs “Alien Like You” and “Hard To Go”. Sebastian Pigott has also been featured in the TV series “Haven” in the episode called “Consumed”.

Pigott and his brother Oliver have created a band called Pigott Brothers and released their debut album called Pigottry in 2009

Temple Grounds cite Jeff Buckley, Biffy Clyro, Radiohead, Local Natives as influences.
Their self titled EP (due for release on 16th May) is bursting with trademark intricacies, indie inspired orchestral riffs and infectious melodies.
In the process of recording their first full length album, Temple Grounds are going to take the UK by storm with a new set list, a fresh sound and what promise to be epic live shows.
