Today we’re excited to announce another advancement of Mixlr.
We’ve improved how Mixlr works on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.
It’s now possible to interact, add comments and browse the web using your Apple device – all while simultaneously listening to live broadcasts on Mixlr.
Let’s dive in, and see what’s changed.
Improved mobile homepage
First of all, we’ve optimised our home page. If you visit the Mixlr homepage using an iPhone or iPad, you’ll find it easier than ever to browse the current live broadcasts.
We’ve designed the home page so that it couldn’t be simpler to find the current popular live broadcasts while you’re on the move.
Click on a live broadcast and you’ll be transported to our new mobile-friendly live page.
Easy mobile listening
Tap anywhere on the player and the live broadcast will begin to play. It goes without saying that we deliver exactly the same high-quality live audio to mobile devices as we do everywhere else.
Unlike our previous player, live audio now plays directly in the browser. This means it’s now possible to share, chat and even view other websites while listening to live broadcasts.
Share everything
We’ve made it easy to share to Twitter and Facebook too. Just click on one of the buttons below the player, and you’ll be prompted to sign in to your social network account and given the option to invite your friends and followers to listen with you.
Chat on the move
We’ve also made it easy to take part in live chat from your Apple device. Scroll down a little on the live page to find the live chat section.
For now, you’ll need to sign in to your Mixlr account to add chat messages on the move. If you haven’t got an account yet, it’s easy to sign up using your mobile device.
What’s next?
Android listeners have been able to listen and comment on live broadcasts for some time, so we’re pleased to be able to offer the same to iPhone and iPad users.
As ever we want to hear what you think about these improvements. Find us on Facebook, Twitter or contact us to give us your feedback.
Happy listening.
