Gosport Borough are a semi-professional football club based in the UK. This season they’re playing for the first time in the Skrill South Conference after being promoted last season in a dramatic play-off final win against Hemel Hempstead.
At the very heart of Gosport Borough FC is a strong community of of dedicated fans, club volunteers, players and staff. This community is known locally as the ‘borough family’ and is what the clubs’ spirit is built on.
Keeping the fans up to date with the latest news is a priority for the club and is something they do very well, actively communicating and encouraging fan participation online via Facebook, twitter and their website. The club are now bringing live match commentary to their fans from every single game. This is great news for fans who might not be able to make every match, as they can now tune in to the game for a blow by blow account of how their team are getting on. “We’re very fortunate that we have enough people who want to give up their own time to make this happen” – Jeremy Fox, Head of Media.
The live commentary is run by the media team consisting of Jeremy Fox, Lead Commentator Joe Elvin and Commentator Dan Godfrey. The guys do a fantastic job of communicating a pre match build up, full match commentary and post match analysis, often including interviews and competitions along the way. In fact their commentary is so good that fans attending the game, often listen to the commentary on their phones at the same time!
This is the first full season they have broadcast the games online and the club hopes to expand this further in the future by rolling this out for their popular ladies and youth teams, increasing coverage for both.
Broadcasting the matches and being active online has improved lines of communications with the borough family making the club more accessible than ever.
Tune in this Saturday to hear Gosport Borough play Whitehawk live at 15.00 GMT.
