The monthly Power Down acoustic showcase returns on 5th July, this time with a with a twist….
All the acts have been handpicked by the Metropolis mastering department, who have dubbed them “four of the best artists they have worked with”. Given the calibre artists Metropolis work with, this is going to be one hell of a show!
As ever you’ll be able to catch the whole showcase live and direct on Mixlr from 7.30pm BST on 5th July. Don’t forget to set a reminder!
Lets run through the four fantastic acts;
SONNA RELE

Mike City, Hod David, Livingstone Brown, Maxi Priest and Lauryn Hill, among others.
After a long journey, Sonna has now finally found the rightful place and sound for her debut.

JUAN ZELADA
“Smashing CD” says Paul as Juan shakes his hand and receives his award. Juan Zelada is receiving his Diploma in LIPA (Liverpool institute for Performing Arts) after his final thesis (an album) and the hand he is shaking is that of Sir Paul McCartney.
After graduation, Juan began to work as a session musician for a number of artists, most notably Bryn Christopher. It was during this period, whilst touring as support for Amy Winehouse that Juan met his current band.
His first single ‘Breakfast in Spitalfields’ is released on July 4th, the day before Power Down. You can download an acoustic download of the track from his Facebook page.

WILL AND THE PEOPLE
Will and the People are more than just a band. They are a way of life. Living, rehearsing, being together, who are on a journey beyond the realms of conventional popular music. Will and the People have percolated into the gaps of the live music scene in the UK with their own unique sound, honest and fresh… they have naturally created their vibrations through a shared vivacity for all types of music… Though they will proudly state their main influence as being Bob Marley and his Wailers, the sound they make is thoroughly theirs, eloquently glistened and scattered with tones from many corners of song world. A solid band of individual talent combines them, and their forthcoming self titled debut album confirms and proves, with 11 irrefutable reasons, why Will and the People are still rising, despite their lack of conformity to the music industry around them
