New feature: broadcaster statistics updates

Over the last six months, Mixlr has focused on building a fantastic experience for listeners. With instant social searchcrowd view, hearting and much improved live chat we’ve made Mixlr the most compelling, social and fun place to listen to live audio on the web.

Happy listeners ultimately mean satisfied broadcasters too, but at our heart Mixlr builds tools for broadcasters, and today we’re rolling out the first step of a new feature specially designed for our broadcasting community.

Weekly updates

We know that our broadcasters put huge amounts of investment into getting their live shows right. From this week, all our broadcasters will receive a regular update letting them know their latest vital statistics: number of unique listeners, number of comments, hearts received and new follows.

Let’s take a look at an example email.

Time broadcasting

You can see at a glance how long you’ve spent broadcasting live this week.

People who listened

The number of unique listeners who tuned into your live broadcasts.

New follows

The number of people who followed your Mixlr account this week.

Hearts received

The number of hearts you received from your listeners… and your biggest fan!

Help! I don’t want to receive this update.

Don’t worry. You can unsubscribe – or reduce the frequency you receive your update – using the link at the bottom of each email. (You don’t even have to be logged in to Mixlr to do this).

And if you’ve not received an update yet, make sure you have an up-to-date email address set on your Mixlr account.

What’s next?

Over the last few weeks we’ve rolled out streaming servers which keep track of even more useful data: number of listeners for each broadcast, how long they’ve listened for and even their geographic location. We’ll be rolling this additional information into your stats updates over the next few weeks.

And finally…

We hope you find your stats updates useful. As usual, we’re building these tools for you so we’d love to hear your feedback, comments and suggestions!
